For my zine I want to focus on cannabis legalization. I love cannabis art and how colorful and poppy it is, this extends into the legalization posters and advertisements as well. I am a cannabis user and come from a long family line of cannabis users. I have personally seen and experienced the benefits as well as worked in the industry and seen how beneficial the plant is for others.
I am extremely passionate about cannabis legalization and art so I think this will be a really fun zine to create. I am excited to get started and start creating my own sort of mini-posters. I want to use groovy images and fun colors and then pair that with really powerful text.
I want to play around with illustrator during this project because it is the platform I am least familiar with, but I also loved messing around with it in class last week. I think it could be fun to do snoop-dog on the dollar bill or something funky like that.
I really want to have fun with this project and get really creative. I love that zines are all so unique and different and we get to really stretch and flex our artistic muscles. I included some images that caught my eye and fit the theme I am going for. I would love to incorporate some of these ideas into my zine.
